Prime Minister announces plan to lift COVID-19 restrictions

A 3-step plan was announced today by the federal government to slowly re-open businesses, allow larger gatherings and interstate travel by the end of July.

Step-1 will let restaurants, cafes, shops, libraries, community centres and playgrounds to re-open and 10 people gatherings in public. Five people will be able to visit a household and regional travel will be allowed.

After today's national cabinet meeting Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, "Today, we move ahead with reopening our economy and our society, with a clear plan, and a clear framework, that shows Australians the road ahead."

While Mr. Morrison wants the country to reach step-3 in July, it is up to the states and territories to decide when to lift these restrictions. Click below to find out more about the 3-step plan!
